The Hellenic ACM SIGMOD Doctoral Dissertation Award : Call for nominations 2026

Eligibility

• The candidate must have completed their PhD at an institution in Greece or Cyprus in a field related to data management.
• The dissertation must have been successfully defended within the period of January 1st, 2024 and December 31st, 2025)

Nomination Process

Nominations must be submitted by the candidate’s PhD advisor and should include:

1. The full dissertation.
2. A nomination letter (max. 2 pages)

Submission Deadline: May 15, 2026 (Anywhere on Earth)

Evaluation Criteria

Submissions will be evaluated based on:

• Originality and novelty of the research
• Technical depth and rigor
• Impact on the field (theoretical, practical, or societal)
• Quality of presentation
• Contributions of the candidate in the corresponding publications (if multi-author)

Award

The recipient will receive:

• The Hellenic ACM SIGMOD Doctoral Dissertation Award
• A certificate presented at the Hellenic Data Management Symposium 2026
• An invitation to deliver a distinguished talk at the symposium
